(Bangkok Post file photo)The Commerce Ministry will start the ball rolling with the asset seizure of those allegedly involved in the government-to-government rice sales during the Yingluck Shinawatra government. On Saturday, related authorities held a briefing at the Commerce Ministry to announce its next move. The Execution Department will then start seizing 20 billion worth of the assets of Mr Boonsong, Mr Poom and four commerce ministry officials, who are on trial for alleged corruption in G-to-G rice sales with China. Mr Boonsong told reporters on Saturday he had yet to decide whether to appeal the court's ruling or to wait until the ministry started seizing his assets. He reasoned the Commerce Ministry lacked the manpower and expertise to do so and letting the Justice Ministry help would speed up the cases.
